The Serenity Prayer sprang to life in 1934 under the pen of American theologian Reinhold Niebuhr.
Webster’s enormous New International Dictionary also happened to be published in that same year. Words in the Serenity Prayer had definitions in 1934 that were subtly different from those of today.
Quiet reflection on these older definitions inspired the following set of personal illustrations, created in 2009.
